Job Description

The IT Officer ensures the streamlined operation of IT in alignment with business objectives. Ensures the implementation of policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operation and is responsible for implementing and enforcing IIE Global IT policies, procedures, and best practices in collaboration with the Global IT Team. Develops support plan for daily IT operational activities and is a training resource for staff on Microsoft office tools and other IIE systems.

Duties:

  • Identifies, recommends, implements, and supports cost-effective technology solutions and implements and maintains Microsoft Windows Server Infrastructure and maintains Microsoft Exchange servers.
  • Coordinates with managers and IO heads regarding IT requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines.
  • Manages information systems contractors to implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, hardware, networks, and information systems.
  • Provides informal training of staff in Microsoft Office Systems and other IIE systems.
  • Plans, implements and maintains backup and disaster recovery solutions using external/internal backup servers.
  • Plans, implements and maintains Phone systems infrastructure, surveillance cameras, room alert systems in addition to Digital Video Conference communications over ISDN and IP.
  • Ensures the implementation of IIE Policies and Procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations.
  • Plans, implements and maintains physical systems’ upgrades as needed.
  • Monitors office networks and provide preventive maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.
  • Requires at least 8 years of related work experience.
  • Requires a working application of a specialized body of knowledge. At this level of competency, a team member is required to utilize knowledge in work execution and continuous improvement of IIE programs, policies, services and systems.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of network infrastructure stacks, including network designs, components, switches, servers, routers, implementation, and administration.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows Servers’ Operating Systems.
  • Proficiency in exchange mail systems.
  • Proficiency in firewalls and design security.
  • Good written and spoken English and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, in teams, and across departments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Focused, detail-oriented, and driven to produce secure and stable systems and networks.
  • Ability to organize and maintain a large amount of detailed information.
  • Ability to conduct technical reports and incident analysis.
