Job Summary:

JSI is recruiting nine full time Governorate Project Managers, each based in the governorates of Upper Egypt. The Governorate Project Managers will be required to travel extensively to the field implementation areas. The successful undertaking of this role will include on-going consultative and mobilization processes, and government and community involvement in all phases of program implementation. We are looking for individuals who are dynamic, committed and passionate toward FP/RH causes and interests in Egypt. With significant time spent in the field, and an emphasis on ensuring effective working relationships with our stakeholders, this is a key position within the SEFPP program team, responsible for effective and efficient undertaking of a wide array of program activities. The Governorate Project Managers will report to Field OperationsTeam Leader.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with JSI Cairo Office (SEFPP) as their representative in the assigned governorate;
  • Facilitate all project interventions as planned;
  • Assist in developing workplans based on the governorate identified priorities;
  • Strengthen the relationship of the project and governorate decision makers;
  • Contribute when advising the program in developing operational relationships with stakeholders at the governorate level;
  • Assist planning interventions to remedy the programmatic challenges as they arise in the assigned governorates;
  • Manage governorates different interventions as regard to the different project units;
  • Monitor and report on the operational progress as required within the project reporting system;
  • Attend Cairo Office meetings as assigned as well as the on-line google meet conference calls;
  • Oversee budget projections and monitoring expenditures for the assigned governorate;
  • Address project needs as they develop;
  • Manage the day-to-day program implementation process in the assigned governorate;
  • Support program field teams and partners to ensure that program activities are undertaken in a timely and effective manner;
  • Establish and sustain relationships where the project operates and address their demands accordingly to project policy;
  • Participate in the assigned activities based on Cairo Office requests even if in another target governorate; and
  • Responsible for all reports required by JSI Cairo Office (SEFPP).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health or medical field, previous training/involvement in FP/RH is preferred;
  • Should belong and reside in the governorate where he/she will be serving;
  • Experience with community mobilization and consultative-type of projects;
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills;
  • Demonstrate the capacity to understand and analyze local conditions and circumstance, as pertinent to carry out the program activities;
  • A practical, solution-focused individual;
  • Effective English and Arabic language skills, both verbal and written;
  • Excellent capacity to work as a team player;
  • Strong facilitation, and report writing skills;
  • Knowledge and familiarity with data collection tools and techniques;
  • Experience of budgeting and handling finances to deliver project activities;
  • Computer literacy, word, excel, power point, web and outlook;
  • An ability to plan/schedule work activities independently, with minimum supervision
