Job Description
- Uses a variety of data sets to test hypotheses, discover hidden relationships and provide actionable insights to the businesses.
- Uses data visualization to engage the audience in a compelling way, enabling effective storytelling.
- Works in partnership with data engineering & technical teams to agree on pragmatic means of data provision to support use cases.
- Delivers key packages of work, on time and in a collaborative manner to meet the needs of business customers.
- Responsible for developing new methodologies to deal with time series forecasting.
- Preparation and presentation of the results and proposed measures to stakeholders at all levels.
- Designs, develops & tests analytic models to industrialize insight into operations to solve real business problems.
Job Requirements
- Education
- As a Data Scientist your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- BS degree in Computer Engineering/Science or related fields with an appropriate additional qualification.
- Familiarity major statistical modelling software packages (e.g., R, SAS) and multivariate techniques (e.g. k-means segmentation, multiple regression, factor analysis, time-series forecasting)
- Machine Learning Experience is a must with excellent Feature Engineering skills.
- Deep Neural Networks Experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python with good command of Java.
- Ability to test hypotheses from raw data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Familiarity with leading visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview, Spotfire, D3.js)
- Experience manipulating and analyzing large and complex datasets
- Experience in data manipulation: use of structured data tools (e.g., SQL), & unstructured data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL)
- Strong statistical modelling & linear algebra knowledge in various domains
- Comfortable with working in a Unix environment.
- High level of creativity and innovation thinking.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic languages.
