Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist

Main Job Duties:

• Responsible for purchasing, receiving, and control of medications.
• Adheres to approved inventory par levels.
• Assures orders are accurately and efficiently entered into the database, picked, and packaged, appropriately.
• Implements measures to lower costs.
• Ensures that the order is entered, including pricing, in an accurate and timely manner.
• Upon receiving medications, assures items are restocked appropriately with the shortest dated medication in front.
• Coordinates the removal of expired products by an approved third party reverse distributor.
• Manages medication shortages with direction from other pharmacy staff.
• Assists pharmacy leadership in compiling statistical data relating to inventory control and management when necessary.
