Job Description
- Manages the Foundation program and teachers
- Reviews overall curriculums
- Administers entry assessments for new students
- Reviews academic reports for all students
- Reviews tutoring notes for all students and assess/assign tutoring
- Organizes annual assessments for all students
- Coordinates entry exams for Home School and SEN students
- Coordinates with Program Manager and House on progress of students
Job Requirements
The Academic Director must have:
- A baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education or child development
- A baccalaureate or advanced degree in education with an Illinois Pre-K certification
- Have knowledge and experience in the philosophy and practices of Head Start (or comparable child development programs), early childhood education, developmentally appropriate practice, and bilingual education
