Job Description
The economic expert will perform the following tasks
- Assess the situation of the retail and industry sectors and identify the legal, institutional, economic and cultural challenges facing the two sectors.
- Provide recommendations and policy actions to enhance the productivity of the retail and industry sectors. The policy actions and interventions should be classified by legal, institutional, fiscal and economic actions.
- Assess the extent to which Egypt benefited from QIZ protocol and examine the weaknesses and strengths related to the operations of the zones.
- Provide policy actions and roadmap to maximize Egypt’s benefit from the QIZ. The policy actions and interventions should be classified by legal, institutional, fiscal and economic actions.
- Conduct two validation workshops to present the results of the assessments of the tourism and mining sectors and Egypt’s benefit from the QIZ protocol.
- Take part in meetings with MPED and MESR when needed.
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. in economics.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in one or more of the above-mentioned development areas.
- Experience working with the Government of Egypt on policy reforms related to one or more of the above-mentioned development areas.
- Excellent reporting and writing skills
