Job Description

Background
- Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is implementing a five-year skills development programme. It is an initiative in collaboration with Aga Khan Foundation (Egypt), Aga Khan Foundation, Canada, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and local partners in Aswan Governorate. Aswan Skills Development Project (ASDP) focuses on strengthening the quality and range of vocational and technical training programmes, as well as providing professional development trainings to young women and men in Aswan Governorate.
- The ASDP aims to improve the knowledge and services provided to young women and men as they transition from education or under/unemployment into training and from training to work or entrepreneurship. ASDP is building a new model of technical vocational training, through national and international partners’ experience. In addition, ASDP is networking and creating partnerships with governmental bodies, such as Ministry of Manpower (MoM) and Productivity Vocational Training Department (PVTD) in order to adopt the new model.
- Through the activities of ASDP, OHF will enhance the employability of young people of Aswan, and provide support to their career progression. In addition to TVET, management, and professional training, ASDP provides career counseling, job placement services, institutional capacity building, and supports the research and policy agenda in the sector.
- OHF is seeking top-level candidates excited about the opportunity to shape the future of Upper Egypt’s technical vocational and professional education landscape, in collaboration with private sector, government and international partners.
Position Objectives:
- To provide support and assistance to the management of the TVET’s component in the agri-business activities.
- Work closely with CSOs, community members, technical, non-technical and governmental partners, exporters, and the TVET agri-business consultants.
- Provide technical support to farmers, community members, and CSOs who are implementing agri-business activities on Aswan Value Chain Crops.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide agriculture technical support to the CSOs and community members who participate or will do agri-business activities under ASDP.
- Work closely with the TVET agri-business consultant and participate in developing the plans
- Work with the agri-business consultant and other technical partners in developing training materials, such as lessons plans, presentations, tests, … etc.
- Ensure high quality measures in all agri-business activities.
- Coordinate and supervise trainees.
- Organize and coordinate, in collaboration with the Q&A team, the Industry Advisory Group (IAGs) meetings.
- Communicate with buyers and exporters to create market opportunities for TVET partners.
- Work with other ASDP components to coordinate and deliver related programmes; including entrepreneurship and marketing training.
- Work with OHF communications and marketing team to promote TVET agri-business activities.
- Other operational activities/initiatives as required.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in agriculture.
- Not less than three years of working experience in agriculture field and Farmer Associations,
- Good knowledge of agribusiness and commonly used terms in agri-business. Good experience in working with communities, farmers, suppliers, traders, and exporters.
- Good command of English and Arabic languages.
- Knowledge of the latest trends in the agri-business industries and training
- Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
