Receiving of incoming goods

• Supervise unloading of material Count, tally
• Unloading check for Material name / Code no. / Safety instructions / batch no. / expiry dates / damage/shortage and prepare report
• Use of proper earthing connections and safety precautions are taken while unloading as per SOP / Safety guidelines.
• Weight verification of receiving material is done on (√n) sample basis up to 100 numbers where n is no of bags / drums received. 10 bags / drums for more than 100 numbers.

Storage and Handling of goods

• Ensure all storage facilities are in proper working order e.g. check for loose racks, damaged pallets etc.
• Ensure good housekeeping (i.e. check for spillage of powder, dirty walls, obstructions).
• Ensure all materials handling equipment are in good condition
• Ensure safety of materials from Fire, Water, Dust and Sunlights where necessary.

Issuance of goods

• Check and count goods before issue for Material code / batch no. / Expiry dates for FIFO control.
• Use of proper earthing connections and safety precautions are taken during issue of material as per SOP / Safety guidelines
• Ensure that SOPs relating to physical custody and preservation of stores are followed
• Zero defects and complaints from internal customers.

Stock monitoring and accuracy

• Notifying Procurement of changing production trends, slow or non-moving stock, obsolete or surplus stock, scrap, etc. Transfer goods to Expired warehouse where necessary.

• Perpetual inventory count of minimum 5 items is done every day.
• Ensure that there is no variance in stock by proper and fortnightly movements for spillage, handling loss, damages etc
