Job Description

Duties include (but are not limited to)

Risk Management Planning

  • To develop an organized, comprehensive and integrated risk management strategy and prepare and submit for Client Approval a Risk Management Plan (RMP) determining the methods to be used to execute this strategy. The plan shall define, as a minimum:
  • Objectives and goalsb. Required technical expertise and roles and responsibilities
  • Tools and techniques for identification, assessment, rating (probability of occurrence and potential impact) and procedure for consideration of response strategies
  • Monitoring and control methodology and metrics
  • Reporting and communication needs

Risk Identification

  • Perform risk identification based on objective and subjective sources. Phase-specific risk identification shall cover, without being limited to, engineering, transportation, Construction, installation, testing, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, initial operations and Performance Testing.
  • Categorize risks as Safety, Health, Environment & Security (SHE&S), disruption to Plant operations, reputation, quality, cost and impact on Work Time Schedule.

Risk Analysis and Response Planning

  • Apply a systematic qualitative approach to estimate the level of identified risks by using a “probability of occurrence” and “consequence of occurrence” scales together with a risk mapping matrix to convert the values to risk levels. Upon identifying risks, Senior Risk Engineer shall:
  • Develop a Project Risk Register and present it for Approval
  • Evaluate Approved risks probability of occurrence
  • Evaluate Approved risks consequence of occurrence
  • Convert the above values into risk levels and prioritize the risks accordingly
  • Develop for each Approved risk a Response Plan by selecting the most appropriate response option(s) (acceptance, avoidance, mitigation or transfer) and specific implementation approach and documenting them in the Project Risk Register with the objective of reducing the risk to an acceptable level and/or exploiting potential opportunities. Senior Risk Engineer shall help to identify the responsible person for each Risk Response Plan

Risk Monitoring and Control

  • Manage identified risks through implementation of Risk Response Plans.
  • Verify effectiveness of response actions
  • Periodically Review / revisit risks
  • Periodically re-run analysis.

Risk Reporting

  • Regularly (monthly) update / revise / re-issue Risk Register including Risk Response Plans.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings.
  • Initiate risk Workshops at the beginning of each Project phase

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years loss prevention experience, preferably in Oil & Gas Industries
  • Knowledge of ISO / NIST Risk Management Guidelines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Degree in engineering, but equivalent experience along with a degree in process safety / control will be considered

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Process Control and Safety
  • ISACA CRISC – Certified in Risk Management qualification is an advantage.
