Job Description

Main mission:

  • Lead the H&S, environmental, energy management function for the site (or other organizational scope) with the assistance and support of the local management team to improve H&S of employees while enhancing Safety culture, reduce environmental impact and improve energy management by reduce SE carbon footprint.
  • In line with the corporate, Regional and country H&S Strategy and programs. Lead the deployment of local programs to achieve objectives defined for the site, with the assistance and support of the local leaders.

Main axis

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and keep up to date with applicable local, national, regional and international regulations
  • Be in contact with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public bodies and competent bodies
  • Carry out assessments to identify, evaluate and reduce environmental impacts and risks (environment analysis)
  • Organize specific events to increase awareness, celebrate successes and share ongoing priorities, for instance during Global Environment Day
  • Assure the entity responds accurately and on time for all corporate and regional campaigns, survey, etc.
  • Set up, update and analyses regularly a dashboard of environmental performance (follow, measure and analyze relevant KPIs).
  • Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management and recycling, energy efficiency, water management, air pollution management; implement control and monitoring program
  • Propose to the concerned organization leaders (GSC, Businesses, Operations) targets for his / her scope in line with global targets (if any) and split them within the various sites operational organization
  • Define and propose in cooperation with the operational organization (sites, support functions, Field Services departments, etc.) the annual program to achieve these targets
  • Support and challenge operational organization (sites, support functions, Field Services departments, etc.) in implementing the action plans coming from this program
  • Promote the deployment of standards, directives etc. in his / her scope
  • Set and lead specific actions per Global operational organization expectations
  • Guarantee the consistency of reporting, and highlight to the local leaders the performance in the concerned domain enabling these latter to continue or change and improve the strategy currently deployed.
  • Coordinate actions with other regional leaders and global teams of the EHS organization (e.g. IMS, risk management)
  • Coordinate actions with other functions key to the success of EHS target, such as procurement, industrialization, methods, businesses, etc.; demonstrate abilities to influence and convince leaders outside SERE function
  • Ensure smooth cooperation with the other functions representatives in his / her scope
  • Review competencies of his / her network, help define appropriate training paths of 3E paths to bridge gaps and develop talents
  • Deploy training and development programs to address specific needs of the function (e.g. technical knowledge)
  • Be a proactive force for change, defining with his/her network and operational organization (sites, support functions, Field Services departments, etc.) with actions to drive continuous improvement and carrying out audits, propose to and convince the organizations leaders to adopt these changes in the scope of the annual program
  • Escalate as appropriate all roadblocks and incidents to SERE regional and global leadership
  • Lead the deployment and maintenance of the integrated management system in his/ her organizations helping the leaders to manage their systems in the concerned domain per international standards and corporate requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Have a minimum 7 years of experience in Warehouse / Manufacturing plants safety and total 10 to 12 years of experience in safety.
  • Good Electrical/Mechanical Engineering background.
  • NEBOSH IGC certificate is a plus.
  • OHSAS 18001- Lead Auditor.
  • ISO 14001- Lead Auditor.
  • Arabic, English and French languages speaking is preferable.
