Responsibilities & Job descriptions:
The Role of Commissioning Technicians comprises of, but is not limited to, the following:
- Perform all the tests and visual inspections.
- Fill the site check list as per the approved checklists
- Prepare the equipment list as per the actual site installation.
- Check the installation status as per the approved check lists.
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
- Responsible for reporting all unfinished electrical works at site to his immediate supervisor/engineer.
- Responsible for restoring of all power supplies (normal and emergency) needed in priority areas.
- Engage in commissioning activities in site to ensure full function of equipment.
- Familiar with testing and commissioning of various types of Electrical/control Panels and transformers.
Job Requirements
- Knows how to use the multi-meter and insulation resistance testers.
- Engage in testing activities needed at site to ensure safe power restoration.
- Inspect MEP systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for
adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. - Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including Multi-meters, ammeters, cable tester, and test lamps etc.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools, install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
