Responsibilities:
The Role of Field Electrical Commissioning Engineer comprises of, but is not limited to, the following:
- Direct contact and involvement with Sub-contractors.
- Perform the pre commissioning activity and highlight the issues that will effect
commissioning process. - Familiar with Grounding and lightning system commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Familiar with LV and MV power Panels and Transformers.
- Familiar with energy storage systems such as UPS and CBS Systems.
- Familiar with the commissioning of Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and all motor starters.
- Familiar with Bus bar and cables testing and commissioning.
- Familiar with Electrical Test apparatus and equipment.
- Prepare the installation site readiness report and highlight the delayed systems based on the commissioning schedule.
- Monitoring of all abnormalities in all energized electrical equipment’s.
- Implement system performance review, to ensure that prior to handover for witness to the Engineer that the systems are operating within the design intended conditions and project specification requirements.
- Perform all the commissioning functional and integration test on the site and insure a smooth handover to the client representative.
- Prepare and submit the testing and commissioning report and reply to the consultant and client representative comment.
- Review all the Sub-Contractor submitting to ensure compliance with the contract documents and the commissioning plan prior to be submitted to the engineer for the final approval.
- Prepare a daily and weekly report for the commissioning activity and highlight the comments and issues.
- Plans and schedules work to ensure proper distribution of assignments and duties of the team
- Certify that works are complete and systems are tested as per the Contract
Documentation and project specification requirements. - Test all required (switchgears) functional and integration test on the site and insure a smooth handover to the client representative.
- Site verification of electrical equipment (controls/interface wiring).
- Troubleshooting of electrical equipment which causes tripping’s.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Provide technical guidance to the team regarding the safe installation, maintenance and repair of MEP Systems.
