Job Description
- To ensure that the teachers follow the guidelines of the curriculum and promote the goals of the curriculum among students and parents.
- To hold regular meetings with the teachers and to meet individual teachers to provide support and advice.
- To update teachers with new teaching methods and strategies.
- To Mentor and monitor all teachers and assistants, work closely with them to help them settle in both professionally and personally
- To liaise with the school chairperson concerning the professional performance of teachers and to participate in the formal evaluation of members of the Department (ex: appraisal).
- To carry class visits for teachers and carry out the necessary follow up at least once a month.
- To monitor grading of the subject to obtain from each teacher a regular (at each Quarter) work summary, including:
- Material covered
- An estimate of the homework set
- Weekly formative assessments (ex: portfolios, copybooks, quizzes, assignments, etc...).
- Summative assessments (e.g. quarter exams, presentation, etc.…)
- Student individualized report
- Further develop my own professional and skills by attending relevant courses, reading to keep abreast of current educational thinking and participating fully in school staff development.
- Attend the meeting in accordance with school policy and lead such meetings as required.
Job Requirements
- At least two years of experience as in the same position
- An ability to work effectively under pressure, priorities appropriately and meet deadlines.
- Good personal presentation and excellent communication skills.
- An ambitious and diligent professional who can influence, motivate and inspire others.
- An outstanding classroom practitioner.
- A team player
- Have Previous experience in international schools.
- American or British nationalities are preferred.
