Job Description

Background:

Ibtikar Khana seeks neither to operate as an incubator, nor as a training center. It is not built to offer courses that merely build the capacities of start-ups and entrepreneurs. Instead, it aims to serve as a comprehensive platform that fosters, promotes, and encourages a culture of innovation and creativity in Egypt and prepares individuals at all levels to critically assess their ventures at their core, and effectively manage them to maximize impact and ensure sustainability. Amongst other thing, it focuses on ensuring that all social innovators pass through a necessary period of apprenticeship during which they will question the assumptions upon which their ventures are built.

Reports to: The Training, Media and Events Coordinator

Office hours: At least 8 hours per day, depending on the trainings times. This is to be coordinated with the training, media and events coordinator.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the Managing Director and the Training, Media and Events Coordinator, build and executive social media strategy for the project.
  • Generate social media campaigns for the recruitment of training batches for IK training programs.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to engage with IK.
  • Moderate all user-generated content and platforms.
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules for the different platforms in coordination with the different departments.
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Identify potential community partners and create a database including all necessary information.
  • Develop community and online media partnerships to maximize the reach of IK on social media
  • Draft a report to the Managing Director based on the agreed deliverables.
  • Plan with the Managing Director with all the monthly deliverables.

Job Requirements

Education

  • A. in a relevant field, preferably PR, Marketing or Communication

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in the field of digital marketing or/and social media marketing.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Candidates who worked with NGOs and in the social development field are preferred.

Language

  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Arabic.

  • Must be creative within his/her scope of work and very resourceful in problem solving.
  • Must have strong initiative, independence, creativity, and sound judgment.
  • Must be a deeply trustworthy person.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple high-priority tasks at once.

  • Must maintain cooperative working relationships and interact with others in a helpful and friendly manner.
