Job Description
The Senior Geologist develops geological or geophysical studies; geological assessment, field studies and surveys, etc. for geological studies of moderate complexity Environmental Studies section. The jobholder assesses the integrity of soil, rock, groundwater and other natural conditions prior to major construction projects. They advise on procedures required for such developments and the suitability of appropriate construction materials. The jobholder works closely with Project Managers for the review and validation of geological studies findings with respective clients and authorities. He shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in geological studies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or a related field
- Graduate Degree in Engineering Geology or related fields is preferred
- Track record of geological studies
- Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
- Understanding of fundamental principles of mineralogy, petrography, soil mechanics, and hydrogeology
- 5+ years of industry experience in in geological or geophysical studies
- 5+ years of experience in in geological or geophysical studies in a top tier regional / multinational engineering consultancy firm .
- Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage
