Job Overview
A Teacher is responsible for preparing lesson plans and educating students at all levels. Their duties include assigning homework, grading tests, and documenting progress. Teachers must be able to reach students with engaging lesson plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create daily lesson plans that are engaging, educational and exciting for the kids, encouraging them to want to come to school.
- Deliver lesson plans in a way that catches the attention of the students and keeps them occupied and excited about learning.
- Reach school and course-wide performance goals for every student in class.
- Watch closely for students who are struggling with academic, emotional problems, learning disabilities or situations at home, and help them find the resources they need.
- Grade papers and homework regularly to keep students updated on how they are doing and to head any problems off before they become habit.
- Increase educational knowledge and stay up to date on new methods attending regular training sessions for teachers.
- Weave goals, competencies and objectives into lesson plans in ways that directly apply to the student’s life.
- Offer praise and encouragement to students when they do well and when they are struggling, and teach them that they have the power to do well in school no matter what.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings.
- Plan and implement educational activities and events.
- Ensure the classroom is clean and orderly and that all students are learning in a safe and productive environment.
- Plan, provide and supervise assessments
- Advising and co-operating with the Head of Stage, Heads of Department, and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programs, methods of teaching and assessment
Job Requirements
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the subject taught
- Fluent oral and written English language
- Previous years of teaching experience in British schools is a must
- Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods.
- Organized, capable and able to multitask
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Availability to work extended hours on occasions.
