Job Description

IBM Open Source support Container & Config Management Team focuses on System Management and Platform component community projects. The team works with IBM’s clients driving the resolution of technical issues. The technical leaders interact with the Open Source Communities on behalf of clients. The team is collaborative, caring and respectful of work-life balance. As a technical leader, you will have opportunities to help define the direction of the team and services.

What you will do:

  • Act as a technical resource and point of escalation for team members.
  • Engage in identifying and resolving complex problems relating to installation, update, configuration, operations or performance.
  • Develop and implement solutions and processes.
  • Advocate for Clients and assist the Open Source community (via support forums/mailing lists and proposing code changes for bug fixes or enhancements)
  • Review client’s architecture and design plans
  • Present knowledge via articles, blogs, and conference presentations.

Job Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in a support, development, engineering, or testing role
  • High Proficiency in multiple OSS products and technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Ceph, GlusterFS, Elasticsearch, OpenLDAP, FreeIPA, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Linux).
  • Application Development Operations Life Cycle (CI/CD) - Automation, Provisioning (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, CVS, Git, GitHub, Ant, Subversion)
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with an open-source community (via support forums, mailing list, community or code contribution).
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Eagerness to learn and expand technical competencies daily
  • Flexible with change
