Job Description

  • An accredited bilingual school in Kuwait is recruiting qualified and certified applicants with prior experience in International Schools.

Job Description:

  • Prepare effective lesson plans that include standards, skills, activities, large group, small group and one-on-one instruction as well as differentiation.
  • Use a variety of assessment tools (formative and summative) as well as strategies to improve student learning.
  • Implement high quality classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment including time management, student engagement, and discipline.
  • Incorporate different teaching methods to deliver lessons.
  • Integrate technology into the lessons.
  • Prepare weekly newsletters, lesson plans, and documentation for administration and parents.
  • Training and delegating assignment / duties of Teacher’s Assistant.
  • Recommend and provide input in planning educational field trips.
  • Establish co-curricular activities to support student learning.
  • Encourage online learning and facilitate presentation through online teaching tools.
  • Evaluate students and enter marks into the grading system (Teachers Plus) in a timely manner
  • Prepare and mark the homework.
  • Maintain class management and follow school disciplinary procedures.
  • Ensure a clean and orderly classroom.
  • Supervise the students at all times while in class and during transition as needed.
  • Reporting and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate individual records of student progress, behavior and attendance (hard and soft copy).
  • Communicate regularly to parents, HoD, Vice Principal and Principal (if required) indicating student achievements and attainment.
  • Monitor and recommend students to the Counselor and/or the Child Study Team.

Collegial Responsibilities:

  • Maintain good professional working relationships with colleagues, HoD and administrators.
  • Contribute positively to staff morale.
  • Be an active member of the teachers’ group and work as a team player.
  • Ensure high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning, through effective dialogue, participating in peer review and observation of class teaching practice.
  • Assist staff as needed.

Wider School Responsibilities:

  • Supervise lunch, break etc. as required.
  • Assist in assessing curriculum implementation and changing curriculum needs and plans for improvement.
  • Work cooperatively with parents, staff and administrators.
  • Participate in training provided by the school, both internal and external.
  • Actively participate in the performance appraisal procedures.
  • Participate in school functions and in various committees formed by the school for conducting school activities, events.
  • Serve as a good role model.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the School Principal.
  • All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational planning.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Math Teacher
  • Candidate must be fluent English Speaker and familiar with the American curriculum using the Common Core standards.
  • Candidate must hold a Bachelor Degree in the relevant subject (Math)
