Job Description
- Supporting the top management in the HSE policy and guidelines issue.
- Supporting the top management in the Organization roles and responsibilities definition, for what concerns safety aspects.
- Supporting the top management in the HSE management system standard issue.
- Ensuring the corporate guidelines, the implementing, updating, reviewing and auditing of the company HSE systems.
- Monitoring the effective implementation of appropriate safety and environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in legislation and company directives.
- Assisting the commercial, engineering and operations departments in their dealings with clients in all issues concerned with health and safety at work.
- Conducting safety audits both internal and external.
- Taking part in accident/ incident investigation.
- Carrying out analysis of accident/ incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
- Providing safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities.
- Implementing and monitoring the HSE management system, plans and safe work procedures.
- Promoting a strong awareness and personal responsibility for HSE with all management and supervisory personnel.
- Reviewing company activities and ensure compliance with HSE policies, HSE plans and procedures.
- Ensuring that emergency preparedness and response plans are developed, documented, implemented and tested.
- Developing specific safety procedures with the HSE team to address identified risks and challenges.
- Ensuring that company HSE performance requirements are included in all contract documents.
- Ensuring that the contractor activities comply with the contractor HSE plan and conform to the terms and conditions of the contract between company and contractor.
- Follow up accident investigations to ensure close-out or recommendations to prevent recurrence and ensure communications of results across Company and Contractor workforces.
- Monitoring activities of and mentor HSE Coordinator located at Benin office.
- Any other HSE related duties that may be required.
