Job Description

The following are the principal duties of the post.

  • They are meant to provide a working framework within which the post holder should exercise initiative and accountability.
  • Be responsible for managing the academic information within the Management Information System (MIS – ‘Staff Portal’) including:
  • Assist in defining and creating workflows for teachers to access the system with utmost ease and efficiency.
  • Coordinate (and where necessary deliver) any teacher training, and any other initiatives that would allow staff (academic & administrative) to benefit or get the most out of the MIS
  • Check and validate the integrity of data held in MIS especially that relating to reporting grades and examination entries changes or request changes as appropriate. Examples include: timetable and academic changes, subject, activity, and pupil group re-assignment and any changes to the curriculum.
  • Escalate issues or seek help in case of a system bug or new/edit feature request.
  • Responsibility for the day to day management and administration of the assessment data process.
  • Responsibility for the production of termly progress reviews and reports to parents.
  • To produce accurate data reports as required.
  • To download and import assessment data from external sources, such as Fischer Family Trust, into SIMS to assist teaching staff in accurate target setting for students.
  • To provide general administrative support to the Head of Data and Exams Coordinator.
  • To attend on and around GCSE and A Level examination results day in August to assist with the preparation and issue of results to students and input data and provide analysis of results.
  • To attend relevant courses and meetings and use training aids to both maintain and develop knowledge, understanding and skills associated with the tasks and responsibilities outlined above.
  • To undertake any other duties, which may be reasonably regarded as within the nature and the responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms.
  • To assist in the production of analyses and interpretation of external data for the senior leadership team as and when requested including results days.
  • To produce data reviews for years 7-13 as required.
  • To prepare and distribute data following all school improvement reviews.
