Job Description
The job will include, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups.
- Repair and service engine-cooling, and electrical systems. Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturer’s performance specifications.
- Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.
- Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide feedback to drivers on faults.
- Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchanges, power transmissions, and other power driven rotating equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenance to be performed in conformance with established standards.
- Employee will perform any and all other duties that are assigned by the Mill Maintenance Manager. Must be able to use hand tools on a daily basis such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers), and rigging equipment. Also perform welding, using a cutting torch as required.
- Scheduling of spare parts deliveries and any major overhauls as deemed necessary
- Supervision of Technicians and overseeing and works carried out by external contractors.
Job Requirements
- Must have working knowledge of the following topics: using hand / power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipe fitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
- Must be able to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts (diesel and electrical), front loaders and skid lifters.
- Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
