Job Description
- Review and supervise all the design phases and deliverables in order to ensure that all the development objectives and concepts are delivered as planned.
- Ensure that governmental codes and regulations are implemented on the project design and supervise the process of obtaining all required authority approvals.
- Participate in the selection of Design consultants, supervision consultant as well as project contractors.
- Ensure a proper value engineering is implemented throughout all the design process and whenever needed which includes changing construction materials, methods and systems
- Supervise the preparation, review and approvals of shop drawings, Material Submittals with respect to the project Specification and Standards of practice submitted by contractors.
- Plan and maintain project budget and schedule planning activities with team and managers.
- Supervise and review the preparations of construction method statements with construction personnel.
- Attend progress meetings, discuss and suggest technical proposals.
- Take part in the project management review and risk management review.
- Coordinate between the construction and engineering teams ensuring that the construction requirements are conveyed to the engineering teams and that the engineering deliverables satisfy the construction requirements.
- Take part in selection process of subcontractors and suppliers for projects.
- Coordinate with quantity surveyors and Review subcontractor’s invoices
- Follow up with subcontractors during negotiations and offer award or subcontract terms, performance and payments.
- Continually review the contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of site works
- Review the contractor’s List of Deliverables (Submittal of Drawings, design and Materials) as well as ensures the compliance with the contract and project requirements.
- Solve technical problems that arise.
- Communicate projects’ progress and problems/risks/concerns.
- Leading and coaching the technical office team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor in civil / architectural engineering with proven experience as a Technical Office Manager.
- Extensive experience in operations, design, engineering, and technical office management.
- Understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
- Familiarity with contracts and legal aspects.
- Good knowledge of related engineering software.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- A team player with leadership abilities.
