Job Description
- The Learning Support Teacher supports and works with students who have minor learning disabilities / or who have trouble accessing the curriculum due to English language deficiencies or learning gaps.
- Identifies students in need, which may include classroom observations and cognitive, academic and achievement testing.
- Plans and monitors Individualized Educational Plans / Student Development plan
- Provides accommodations for students (i.e: extra test time, laptop use)
- One-on-one and small group instruction to target specific needs, skills or academic areas.
- Provides weekly progress report for each student.
Job Requirements
- Fluency in the English Language is a must.
- Previous experience in teaching the Cambridge curriculum is a must.
- Previous experience as a Homeroom Teacher or a Co Teacher.
- Ability to teach the core subjects of the curriculum (English, Math,Science and Humanities).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to deal with different gardes (from Grade 1 up to Grade 9).
