Job Description

  • Manage, supervise, and partially execute all phases of marketing activities and medical research: proposal, design, programming, questionnaire preparation, analysis, report writing, and presentation.
  • Plays a leadership role in setting marketing objectives, strategies and business principles by providing guidance to business team in identifying and articulating key business issues and knowledge gaps, and in finding opportunities for the assigned brands.
  • Effectively manages, coaches and develops the activities of junior professionals as necessary. Actively teaches skills to direct reports (and broader team where appropriate), provide direction to enhance effectiveness and impact on team/business. Guides issue and project prioritization.
  • Ensures that marketing conclusions and recommendations for all research conducted are clearly communicated, bringing the research conclusions of studies directly to bear on the marketing issues and opportunities.
  • Formulates corporate marketing policies and strategies in alignment with the overall company strategy, ensuring the coordinated and consistent execution of these strategies in all markets, so as to strengthen position of the brands and to contribute in the achievement of targets in market shares, distribution, sales and margins.
  • Contributes to the development of the company’s long and short term strategy, defining the market trends, business growth opportunities so as to maximize profitability.
  • Supports & manages to achieve company’s strategic goals.
  • Leads the analysis of the market trends and identification of business growth opportunities and initiates new business development in line with the overall strategy.
  • Help teams to define the goals of a product or service, and allow marketers to see how those goals fit into the bigger picture of the marketplace.
  • Responsibility for all communication material selection and content directed towards medical professionals at all levels
  • Monitor and analyze medical insights and inquiries to inform development of scientific and medical resources
  • Drive and/or support strategy and scientific content development for major scientific meetings
  • Drive and/or support strategy and scientific content development for advisory boards
  • Provide accurate, complete, and timely responses to medical information queries escalated in-house and/or direct healthcare providers, or consumers to the proper source for that information.
  • Handle questions and requests related to department programs and functions and develop in-depth knowledge on clinical data associated with clinical trials, publications and studies for marketed products.
  • Lead tactical and creative meetings, adding value by bringing new ideas to the table, asking powerful questions, and pushing innovation - from brainstorm and approvals to overall proposal writing and pitching to clients.
  • Maintain records of source publications and fact-checking reference documents.
  • Lead the development, communication, maintenance and reporting of medical information resources for assigned products to meet the needs of external customers and internal business partners.
  • Research and conduct detailed analyses of scientific literature to communicate relevant scientific information and competitive issues within the department and cross-functionally
  • Ensure medical accuracy of advertising, promotional and medical materials and serve as medical lead for designated materials.
  • Serve as primary scientific contact for research professionals, and field staff who contact him/her for medical information. Utilize scientific expertise to clearly communicate complex data to internal and external business partners.

Job Requirements

  • Education:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (Medical Sciences) Pharmacy or Medicine.
  • MBA or postgraduates studies preferred with a concentration in research, marketing, or quantitative analysis
  • PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO with 4 or more years of relevant experience in clinical research, patient care, Clinical Development, Medical/Scientific Affairs, and/or basic research (Other doctorate degrees may be considered)
  • Experience:
  • Typically 10 to 15 years’ experience in increasingly responsible positions preferable marketing, management and medical researches experiences.
  • Experienced across all research techniques/applications.
  • Experienced and effective in managing people.
  • Multi National organizations experience is a must.
  • Analysis of the effectiveness of all marketing efforts.
  • Can articulate and critique own work and ideas.
  • An understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the regulatory and legal guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products.
  • Aptitude in writing and presenting on scientific and clinical data.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational, time management, and project planning skills with strong ability for self-direction.
  • Demonstrated track record of strategic execution in a matrix environment with limited supervision.
  • The ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across corporate functions.
  • Understanding of disease landscape and clinical data to enable critical analysis of scientific literature and communicate implications cross-functionally
  • Strong computer and database skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Digital Communications
