Job Description

  • Manages and executes strategic market access plans for designated Products/Therapeutic Areas to achieve specific HEMAR objectives / outcomes; typically receives strategic direction from HEMAR Lead and the department Head.
  • Develops local market access strategies for the designated products as well as the necessary tools to support the strategy (including value dossiers, economic models and data generation strategies).
  • Supports the development of and implements new processes, standards and plans aligned to HEMAR strategy which directly impact operational results.
  • Works in collaboration with cross functional teams internally and with input from HEMAR Lead to develop timely and robust market access strategies.
  • Ensures earliest and optimal market access that reflect on patients’ benefits for products in therapy areas under his/her responsibilities.
  • Leads and works closely with key sectors/centers in his/her geographic area to understand and elicit the Market Access/Reimbursement requirements and to propose and implement the necessary strategies and actions to address these requirements.
  • A sound understanding of the products’ key value messages, value proposition, economic tools and proper communication to ensure meeting the needs of local stakeholders.

Roles And Responsibilities:In Depth Knowledge And Understanding

  • Understanding and knowledge of diseases area and products of his/her responsibilities and analysis of treatment pattern & unmet needs.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the local market and competitor landscape.
  • HEMAR tools adaptation and use knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of HCC rules.

Gap Analysis/Needs Assessment

  • Identify data gaps to support future strategies and develop plans locally or in collaboration with EMEA colleagues to meet these needs.
  • Work cross functionally to gain key insights to support strategy development and future activities.

Stakeholder Landscaping, Build Networks And Engagement

  • Mapping of key stakeholders and thought leaders in disease areas under his/her responsibilities from market access perspective.
  • Understand views and needs of key stakeholders including prescribers, patients, and payers.
  • Plan, engage and visit stakeholders following health care compliance guidelines to meet the needs for patients’ access to products in geographic area and disease area of responsibilities.

Create Disease Awareness For Brand-Value Communication

  • Develop/locally adapt EMEA/global Health Economics models supporting the brand value proposition & health economics differentiation from other treatment options.
  • Review & local adaptation of products’ value dossier, evidence-based differentiation strategies.
  • Tailor KVMs (Key Value Messages) to meet stakeholder needs to optimize market access.
  • Create stakeholder awareness about burden of illness, unmet needs and keep them updated.
  • Collaboration and long-term partnership with key internal and external stakeholders.

Development Of Local Market Access Strategy

  • Lead the development of robust access strategies in collaboration with the CVTs (Country Value Teams) and with input from the HEMAR lead and Head of department.
  • Map current & future market access environment and analyse key drivers for market access.
  • Regular review and where necessary update of MA strategies as a result of policy changes, competitor insights etc.

Budget Planning

  • Support budget planning with HEMAR lead and ensure proper budget allocation and timely execution of planned activities.
  • Engage with CVTLs (Country Value Team leads) and communicate all market access and health economics related activities for the upcoming year to support the BP for the product.

Training

  • Provide health economic and value messaging training to the different field support teams.
  • Support the identification of health economic related training needs by external stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Experience Required

  • Education: Relevant university degree in life sciences, A post graduate university degree in Health Economics/Epidemiology/Public Health/Health Policy/Business Administration is advantageous.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or in a payer environment preferably in a health economics and market access related function.
  • Language: English , Arabic would be a plus

Technical/Functional Skills Required

  • Related market access or health economics experience working in pharmaceutical industry or health sector is essential.
  • Previous experience in Immunology Therapy Area is preferred.
  • Knowledge of health economics, outcomes research, management entry agreements and economic modelling is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels within the pharmaceutical industry to include senior health professionals, government figures and board members with an ability to verbalise and write clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate technical and economic concepts and approaches to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable excellent numeric and, analytical skills together with good MS Office skills.
  • Ability to adapt economic models to local needs.
  • Ability to communicate results of studies to the public including publication and presentations.
  • A strong performance track record.

  • Project management experience and ability to meet tight deadlines in a timely and accurate manner with strong attention to detail.
