Job Description
- Reviewing the medical history and the medical records of NPO patients or any candidate for PN either total or partial.
- Provide initial nutrition assessment for the PN Candidates.
- Checking the patient lab result on daily basis (Example: Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Calcium, Albumin, Bilirubin, Triglycerides,)
- Reviewing the patient fluid balance
- Calculating the patient caloric needs based on the anthropometric data, stress factors and activity factors.
- Identifying the patient needs from macro and micro nutrients according to the patient case.
- Identifying the more appropriate amino acid brand regarding the patient’s renal and hepatic conditions.
- Adjusting the patient electrolytes’ needs on daily basis.
- Preparing daily tailored PN formulations under aseptic techniques according to the patient daily needs.
- Monitoring the patient progress till shifting to enteral or oral routes.
- All PN formulations are prepared according to ASPEN and ESPEN Guidelines and updated regularly on periodic bases.
Job Requirements
- Graduated from the faculty of pharmacy
- At least 1 year experience in CIVAS Department ( IV Mixing)
