SOLAR Technical / Commercial Engineer Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify gaps in scope and responsibility to ensure project success. This requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering, construction, and permitting concepts and rules of conduct.
• Responsible for project ownership and execution, which requires understanding/managing the scope, stakeholders and schedule and keeping all parties in sync.
• Interface with internal customers (project managers, sales team) and external customers (utilities, EDC, contractors, end customers) to ensure consistent communication.
• Evaluate site conditions to identify electrical/PV system design and interconnection options.
• Responsible for all aspects of commercial and industrial PV system Engineering, including equipment selection, site design, and detailed electrical specifications.
• Review detailed bills of materials and coordinate ordering of critical components.
• Assist Operations team with field specific issues
• Coordinate with utility companies to solve interconnection problems.
• Support the development and maintenance of the Solar Engineering standards and design processes, and train junior staff on implementation.
• Monitor progress to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Gathering info using different methods like surveys, site visits, meetings with clients to determine project’s needs,
• Studying project & setting time frame slots for project phases and preliminary BOQ .
• Conducting Kick-off with the procurement & the production meeting to ensure project success as per customer needs.
• Following up installation with the site engineer and ensuring achieving project milestones as scheduled.
• Ensuring quality and quantity delivery of the products as agreement terms.
• Creating risk plan for all project phases and ensuring the application for alternative solutions.
• Implementing corrective measures within company guidelines, and under supervision.
• Costs tracking for project & managing expenses during the implementation and ensuring budget following up.
