Job Description

Position Objective:
The Programme Officer (PO) will be responsible for coordinating development activities and delivery; he/she will be also responsible for the coordination with the CSOs and supporting their action plans. The PO will help set the open meeting, and support field operations in the four districts. The PO will write the progress reports.

Main responsibilities in Civil Society Programme:

  • Prepare action plan /work schedules for all planned activities and ensure that they are submitted to the Programme Manager for approval as per agreed general action plan.
  • Organize project orientation for different stakeholders and participatory community planning.
  • Assess the CSOs institutional capacity and identify performance gaps.
  • Work with the local community leaders and other community stakeholders to identify and address community issues.
  • Working closely with the district-level platforms to measure progress made regarding community identified needs/resolve.
  • Facilitate conducting Social Innovation Labs (SIL) on level-districts to support multi-stakeholder groups to address complex social problems.
  • Develop initial narrative reports for the project.
  • Develop CSOs sub-grants agreements.
  • Conduct field visits to CSOs to follow up the activated and funded projects.
  • In coordination with the Programme Manager, assess the governorate officials' performance gaps, the training results and impact on governmental officials.
  • Play important role as OHF interface with communities.
  • Responsible for gathering data for specific indicators.
  • Any other tasks as required.

Job Requirements

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant university degree, preferably in social sciences, economics, or politics.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the field of development, preferably working with international organisations.
  • Practical experience in working with civil society organisations.
  • Good training and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of both Arabic and English Languages.
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Available to work outside regular business hours.
