Job Description

To co-ordinate, support and supervise all aspects with regards to Safety and occupational Health. To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Safety and occupational Health are adhered to.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe workplace environment and eliminate/minimize risk to health.
  • Ensure that all Safety and Health policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated to Safety and Occupational Health Teams and other concerned parties.
  • Ensure that the LCG meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to Safety, Occupational Health and Welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
  • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
  • Ensure that all accidents (if any) are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
  • Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Co-ordinate the development of Safety & Occupational Health policies, systems of work and procedures.
  • Ensure full and accurate Safety and Occupational Health and training records are maintained.
  • Establish a full programof documented Safety and Occupational Health inspections, audits and checks.
  • Establish a structured program of Safety and Occupational Health training throughout LCG.
  • Manage and devise the agenda for the LCG Safety and Occupational Health Steering Committee and formulate & distribute minutes for the Committee meetings.
  • Ensure that all agreed-upon action points are fulfilled within deadlines.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the LCG Safety and Occupational Health Steering Committee/Safety and Occupational Health Advisor.
  • Provide regular reports to the LCG Steering Committee/Safety and Occupational Health Advisor on relevant Safety and Occupational Health activities.
  • Participate in monthly meetings-conducted at LCG Head Quarters-when requested to report on relevant Safety and Occupational Health matters.
  • Any other duties which may be required by the LCG Safety and Occupational Health Steering Committee/Safety and Occupational Health Advisor from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • BSc of Engineering or any related scientific field.
  • Post-graduate study of a related field would be an asset.
  • At least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Safety and Occupational Health certification from an accredited entity or working towards a certificate accreditation.
  • Provision of advice to Safety and Occupational Health Teams in different Facilities.
  • Handling of Safety and Occupational Health investigations.
  • Experience of formulating, implementing and revising Safety and Occupational Health policies and procedures.
  • Good timekeeping and attendance record.
  • Neat and tidy appearance.
  • Moving between different locations of the Company (LCG).
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communications and presentation skills (both in Arabic and English).
  • Strong IT skills
  • Confidential in all matters
