Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Head of Agriculture will be responsible for Agriculture sector’s strategy and direction
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing an innovative and ambitious agriculture strategy with a clear focus on evidence-based advocacy, advisory work, and scaling up of operations.
- Overseeing the quality of implementation (time, budget and deliverables) of Agriculture programs
- Resource mobilization and relationship management with main partners
- Ensuring outstanding results and a high level of quality in our Agriculture programs
- Overseeing the performance and composition of the Agriculture department staff and the development of their potential by regular coaching
- Monitoring and steering the financial performance of the Agriculture sector
- Ensure alignment of the full team on all Agri. processes and programs being implemented including the planting and harvesting along with their planning phases
- Provide expertise and technical input on all the Agriculture activities
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Agriculture
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the Agriculture Sector and onions
- Excellent knowledge of current thinking in Agriculture
- Very Good - Excellent Command in the English Language
- The candidate experience should include hands-on experience in the farms
- Strong network and visibility with main partners relevant to the Agriculture sector, with entrepreneurial skills including a proven track record in mobilizing financial resources.
- Significant experience and proven track record of developing and executing Agriculture initiatives in a competitive context.
