The Purpose
- As Application Technician, your main responsibility is to support the Application Specialist Pharma/Dietary supplements by performing application trials in the Innovation & Application Center independently in a secure and reliable way. Furthermore, you will take responsibility for the maintenance of the equipment and the lab. At DSM we take safety very seriously, therefore we expect you to comprehend and adhere to all Safety, Health and Environment regulations, policies and procedures.
- This role will report into the Team Lead Application Specialist and is located on our site in New Cairo, Egypt.
The Position
- Performing Setup, Operation, Cleaning and Troubleshooting of Lab-scale manufacturing machines including but not limited to: Tablet presses, Capsule filling, Coating machines, Sachet filling and Semi-automated blistering machines
- Compressing and filming coat tablets including tooling setup and using different coating pans and spray nozzles etc.
- Utilizing the dispensing and weighing system of scales and balances; accurately weighing and labelling raw materials and trials
- Physical testing of tablets, capsules and solutions including but not limited to hardness, disintegration, friability and in-process weighing and volume checks
- Organizing and managing sample shipment to various locations for analytical and presentations purposes
Job Requirements
The Ideal
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company
- College graduate of relevant study or equivalent
- Familiar with cGMPs and standard operating procedures
- Experience in result management and documentation (Excel, PowerPoint)
- You are solution-oriented, you like to work independently and in a proactive way
- Strong time-management and self-organizational skills
- Eagerness to learn and to expand knowledge
- You like to work in a multicultural and interdisciplinary team
- Good Computer skills (MS outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint) and intermediate math skills
- Fluent in English and Arabic
