Job Description

Main Purpose:

  • Defining, monitoring, coordinating, developing and maintaining a quality SRH package of care provided in the project according to MSF policies, protocols and standards in order to provide a high quality SRH-care, and to act as an SRH focal person in the medical department and in the project.

Accountabilities

  • Planning, organizing and ensuring the implementation, in close collaboration with other medical staff, all Sexual and Reproductive health activities. Participating in the definition and update of annual project planning and budget.
  • Informing other medical managers or doctors about any possible serious problems or complications. Coordinating and assessing the feasibility for referral of pregnant women to receive further medical evaluation, in order to manage efficiently the resources needed for delivering MCH-care while keeping good quality level of care.
  • Ensuring the implementation of protocols by all medical staff in order to improve the quality of the SRH care given to population.
  • In coordination with the project biomedical service supervising the appropriate use of medical devices and anticipating and communicating future needs.
  • Supervising administrative procedures and documents, analyzing routine data for monitoring purposes, and being responsible for the collection and analysis of medical statistics and reporting of SRH activities (participation in epidemiological reports and monthly/quarterly reports according to guidelines) in order to have updated and correct information about the day-to-day activity in the project and to provide support in the decision-making.
  • To ensure the implementation of the SRH package of care for Maadi project after the revision and update of the current SRH package of care.
  • To revise the ANC protocol and make sure its implementation is done according to MSF standard quality of care.
  • To coordinate the revision of the ANC support group session’s content with other disciplines.
  • To ensure that medical doctors understand the criteria of eligibility for referring women to ANC support group and they provide adequate information about the objective and organisation of the ANC group.
  • To make sure that eligible women are reported to the SW leading the ANC support group.
  • To develop checklist of supervision to evaluate the follow up of the SRH protocols and provide technical medical support to medical doctors when needed.
  • To identify SRH technical skills existing among the team (especially among gynaecologist) and encourage sharing technical competencies
  • To plan necessary SRH training/workshop/refresher training and organise session according to the needs
  • To make available for the team existing MSF material available including in other MSF missions and adapt existing material to Egypt context
  • To ensure follow up consultation for complex and complicated patients.
  • To strengthen the quality of the filling of patient files and data collection sheets.
  • To Perform regular file review to point out the necessary technical support for the medical team
  • To make sure that the referral system to external partners is working adequately following clear developed SOP (, referral Hospitals for complication cases and delivery…) in collaboration with Medical case management department.
  • To participate to MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Teams) meeting and support clinician to prepare and discuss complex cases needed to be shared within MDT
  • To provide regular reports (quantitative and qualitative) about SRH activities.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor degree of Medicine, preferably as gynecologist or midwife.
  • Medical Diploma in gynaecology.
  • Medical license from ministry of health.
  • Membership card from the Egyptian Medical Syndicate.

Experience

  • Experience in the field of SRH. Extensive experience working with MSF and knowledge about Egypt health context is highly desirable.
  • Basic use of excel, word, outlook.
  • 3 years of experience as gynecologist or Midwife.

Language

  • Arabic and English are must.
