Job Description

We are looking for an accounting General Manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. Accounting General Manager's responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. We are also looking for someone to work closely with our financial management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

  • The Accounting General Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting.
  • This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • The Accounting General Manager supervises staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
  • The Accounting General Manager will have contact with the CFO and Company’s executives which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. Strong knowledge of all types of taxes is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Adhere to proper accounting methods, policies and Egyptian Accounting Standards.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Assist the CFO in the daily banking requirements.
  • Oversee the daily accounting operations and ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborates with the other finance department General Managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Monitors and analyzes accounting data and the department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Responds to inquiries from the CFO and other finance and firm-wide General Managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
  • Work with the external auditors to ensure a clean and timely quarterly and year-end audit.
  • Ensure the timely fulfillment of the monthly and inspection requirements of all types of taxes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
  • Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Job Requirements

Education

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting,

Technical Skills and Prior Experience

  • 5 years of experience as an Accounting General Manager
  • Excellent computer skills on MS Office
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with accounting software and databases.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
  • Proven knowledge of different types of taxes and related regulations.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
