Translator - English/French

Objective:

• The African Electrotechnical Standardization Commission (AFSEC) is in need of a translator as part time job for one month (in terms of part time job )contract to translate a Low Voltage Electrical Installation Guide from English to French.
• Then, it might be also contracted to translate (English/French) additional two guides through separate contracts for two extra months duration.

Scope of Work:

The contracted Translator is required to provide:

• Accurate text translation from English/French, to translate the AFSEC Low Voltage Electrical Installation Guide. The text translation must include:
• Ensure that the translation text is technically and grammatically correct, error free and it should
• meet high quality standards, and would not need further editing after completion of translation.
• Professional and accurate translation from English to French language.
• Price will be calculated 250 words per page, also descriptions under drawings or photos need to be considered in the offers.
• Provide accurate and timely translation to the satisfaction of EU standards.
• Observe confidentiality and refrain from divulging any information about the content of the text.
• Return the original of the documents to AFSEC after completion of the services.
• Maximum percentage margin of errors per page should not be more than 3 errors.
• The translated materials should be provided to AFSEC after completion of the required services in a hard copy and a soft copy (as required).
• The documents translated remains the copyright of AFSEC and should not be shared to any third party.
• Fees will be paid after submission of invoice, and payments will be made via bank accounts.
• Translation of documents from/to English/French Language. Each page will be calculated by 250 words (250 words per 1 page)
• The consultant will use her/his own office/resources/materials and computer in the execution of this assignment.
• The Translator must be familiar with technical, electrical engineering terminologies.
• The documentation is filled with engineering phrases and terminology that can’t be translated effectively by someone unfamiliar with Electrotechnical terminologie .

Terms and phrases are much more complex than in many other types of documentation. It is therefore imperative that documentation be translated accurately to maintain its high standards.
