Job Description

Job Purpose

To promote and apply the concepts of engineering particularly in the field of machines /equipment qualification, metrology, automation and instrumentation by expanding know-how for continuous improvement and competency.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Calibration/ Instrumentation Engineer will responsible for the development of calibration methods and applications for the technology which needs to be calibrated. He has tools to capture and analyze pertinent data, as well as provide them with guidance on how to react and modify the variables involved in calibration.
  • Plan and conduct tests on Equipments, Machines and their components in compliance with the calibration process designed for the purpose. They are involved in the planning of calibration programs and are responsible for ensuring that the results conform to quality standards.
  • Administrative duties such as documentation of Calibration and Qualification activities, manage reference and standard Equipment to be calibrated locally or abroad. He also keep records of shipping documentation.
  • Responsible on Paperless Calibration management system (PCM).
  • Sterile Area/Equipment Qualification.
  • Manage Calibration specialists and technicians.
  • Perform or oversee any in-house services required for instruments that are not currently covered by existing standard operating procedures/guidelines.
  • Documents all work performed to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Recognize out of tolerance conditions and initiate corrective action and documentation.
  • Assist in training other technicians.
  • Perform calibration and functional checks using a combination of chemical, mechanical and electronic standards.
  • Perform advanced level repairs/upgrades/troubleshooting beyond what is accomplished during a routine calibration or preventive maintenance or service.
  • Perform modifications to manufacturing and analytical equipment to make them more compatible with specific user defined applications.
  • Develop and write instrument procedures relating to calibration, calibration limits and interval assessment and preventive maintenance.
  • Record and reports abnormal function of equipment or out of tolerance conditions and initiates corrective action.
  • Assist in evaluating cost saving opportunities via internalization of tasks, part reconditioning, and changing vendors.
  • Locate part sources, estimates costs and prepares requisitions.
  • Communicate with customer staff and outside contractors in the calibration, repair and operation of equipment necessary and coordinates with outside contractors regarding repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards.
  • Perform work in accordance with approved equipment calibration, maintenance and safety procedures.

Job Requirements

Knowledge/ Education / Previous Experience Required :

  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Preferable (Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work with others and lead them as required.
  • The know-how to use calibration tools.
  • High level of problem solving and analytical skills
  • Familiar knowledge with the operations, equipment and technology used in the industry.
