GPS Operator

• GPS Operator is responsible for monitoring all activities from a centralized control room relating to driving activities in and around the region. To ensure integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all information gained in compliance with quality standards and legislation whilst preserving the rights of the individual. The Operator assists the GPS Team Leader in the planning, coordination, organisation, and quality controls for the driving operation in order to effect optimum protection of Assets (tangible and intangible), drivers and the members of the public. The GPS Operator reports to the GPS Team Leader on site.

HSE Obligations:

• Ensure all driving related incidents and accidents reported to Team Leader on timely manner.
• Ensure all irregularities like deviation from allocated routes, over speed, continuous driving etc. are reported to Team Leader on timely manner.
• Any HSE noncompliance from driving activities to be reported to Team Leader immediately.
• Make sure proper PPE’s are worn by the drivers required for their job.
• Report any unsafe conditions or hazardous situations no matter how small it is.
• Monitor and calculate total continuous drive time for each drivers
• Monitor Speed limit of each vehicle and report any irregularities to Team Leader and/or HSE department
• Generate driver behaviour report on each trip and forward the electronic report to HSE to review and to give feedback to drivers on his behaviour

General Tasks:

• To report equipment failure to the Team Leader to maximize operation of the system
• To maintain a secure system for providing data in accordance with the regulations set up by the management and ensure the security of the control room and equipment is maintained at all times.
• To support the Team Leader by providing monitoring of the maintenance programme to ensure full provision of the system.
• To be aware of your responsibilities in terms of health and safety, including identifying at your appraisal, appropriate health and safety training.
• To ensure that you approach your duties taking into consideration the principles of the best value.
• To maintain the CCTV Room area in good order. No smoking / eating or drinking in this area to be allowed.
• All persons entering CCTV room must be there on official business. CCTV entrance door to always be secured.
