Job Description
- Create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, testing and start-up;
- System monitoring, debugging and troubleshooting operational problems;
- Select and configure other automation devices, such as VFDs for automation/control;
- Provide guidance to Field Service Engineers in programming, repair, installation and maintenance of PLC systems;
- Provide technical support in developing and improving processes;
- Support the plant in all aspects of the electrical maintenance troubleshooting using SCADA/PLC and robot programming skills.
- Support the new equipment installation and review when required.
- Support electronic/PLC inventory management
- Respond to equipment downtime issues in plant, relating to PLC/electronic failure, assisting in resolving in a timely manner.
- Train and develop the plant electricians to increase their ability to understand and troubleshoot controls/PLC related issues.
- Interface with the equipment suppliers to assist with equipment troubleshooting and solutions.
- Manage electrical/electronic equipment improvement projects.
- Complete capital requests, as required.
- Write detailed engineering specifications for equipment as required.
- Ensure the completion of maintenance schedules are met.
- Assist in the development of electrical preventative maintenance programs for a plant.
- Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements
Background and Experience
- AS or Electrical Controls Technology Program Degree
- 3-5 years relevant to industry experience
- A track record in production positions, in an industrial environment.
- Prefer 10th of Ramadan residency.
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong teamwork capabilities, operating in a multi-function environment to collectively improve operations and resolve related issues.
- The hands-on approach to engineering
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred;
- Experience reading and modifying electrical control schematics;
- Knowledge of safety protocols;
- Ability to generate problem solutions, serve as an advisor, develop operating procedures, and influence other employees’ work to some extent;
