Typical work activities

• Overseeing the entire construction project or part of a project
• Working closely with the Construction Safety Supervisors to maintain SAFE working conditions for his team.
• Overseeing the construction workers and their immediate supervisors and engineers.
• Ensuring Change Management requests are signed, and ALL inputs are fulfilled before starting the construction activities.
• Overseeing the performance of contractors.
• Ensuring that the construction work is completed on schedule.
• Monitoring and directing the progress in the construction site.
• Overseeing the delivery of materials, construction tools and equipment to be matching the RFQ and designs in terms of specs and quality.
• Ensuring that the construction resources are utilized effectively.
• Ensuring that all safety precautions are adhered to by the construction workers
• Signing required work permits in the site after assuring all safe conditions and technical requirements are in place. (Refer to ZERO Tolerance policy)
• Presence in office by 8:00 a.m. to plan his daily work before going into the construction site.
• During any critical construction activity, the Resident Engineer is expected to be onsite in order to manage these activities and eliminate any conditions that prevents these activities to proceed in a safe manner.
• Reviewing design drawings and having a site walkthrough before the start of construction to proactively eliminate any unforeseen conditions that may affect the construction works.
• Review designs with consultant where applicable to make sure scope is following the standard codes and regulations and ensure the construction company is aware of the design and it is being applied in the right way.
• Applying Company Construction Quality Management requirements.
• Delivering construction works as a best in class in terms of Quality and Finishing.
• Final acceptance of the delivered works and documenting the acceptance on the related quality acceptance form.
• Reviewing contractor’s invoices before the signature of the project manager.
• Developing construction works CPS’s.
• Reviewing contractor’s proposed CPS’s.
• Participating in Design Reviews and be able to collect the discussed inputs during these reviews in order to execute it.
• Producing accurate BOQ’s for his own works in order to add it for RFQ’s shared with contractors with estimate prices (according to market average) and quantities.
• Lead site visits with contractors after RFQ to explain the scope on site.
• Reporting any safety incidents in his site directly to Company Project Manager or Construction Safety System Owner.
