Job Description
- Collaborate between feed formulators and plant managers to provide lowest cost options for all feeds, feed ingredients and feed products
- Point of contact for suppliers and external market consultants and resources
- Support the commodity group by negotiating cost saving initiatives and cost mitigation efforts
- Determine strategic supply objectives using tools and reports for decision making around products and commodity purchases
- Assess supply base and negotiate best cost structure
- Identify and develop a reliable and effective base of qualified suppliers
- Take action to address supplier pricing and/or delivery issues
- Advise management of market conditions and supply base activity
- Drive continuous supplier quality improvement through participating in rapid improvement events, supplier quality audits, training and certifications as required
- Identify, develop and implement interdepartmental projects to achieve company initiatives
- Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in company system
- Execution and monitoring of all regular purchasing duties
- Coordinate with user departments and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned
- Monitor and co-ordinate deliveries of items between suppliers to ensure that all items are delivered on time
- Select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers
- Plan and manage inventory levels of materials or products

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Master's Degree preferred).
- 5+ years experience developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies (manufacturing environment preferred).
- 5+ years demonstrated success developing and maintaining purchasing resources.
- Demonstrated success with global supplier management, including ability to adjust strategies to market changes.
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex sourcing agreements.
- Strong comprehension, application and execution of best practice negotiation skills.
- Strong commitment to supplier relationship ethics including but not limited to fairness in negotiations.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating strong bias for action.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and drive effectiveness.
- Ability to prioritize well, communicates clearly, and influence cross functional teams effectively.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Exceptional PC skills using the full MS Office Suite inclusive of Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word
- Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills.
