Job Description

  • We are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Day Care Team

TEACHING

  • Following Schemes of Work prepared by the Head of day Care.
  • Assisting in Preparation of Medium and Short-term plans in conjunction with the other members of the department.
  • Assisting in Teaching lessons at the times stipulated in the school timetable.
  • Maintaining order and good discipline among Students and safeguarding their health and safety.
  • Providing a stimulating working environment in the classroom.

ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING

  • Making regular assessments of kids' attainment and progress.
  • Keeping records of kid' progress.
  • Writing reports on kid’ attainment and progress.
  • Attending parents’ evenings to discuss kids' progress with parents.

STAFF MEETINGS

  • Attending staff meetings to discuss curriculum, pastoral and other matters.

COVER

  • Supervising the class of a colleague on short-term absence.

PASTORAL CARE

  • Being actively involved in promoting the well-being of kids.
  • Providing a role model for kids in terms of personal standards of conduct, appearance, and punctuality.
  • Reporting any academic or behavioral problems to the line Manager / Head.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with parents.
  • Sharing in the pastoral duties on a rota basis e.g. break and lunchtime duties.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Fluent English speaker.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with both adults and children.
  • Willingness and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize own work.
  • Ability to work effectively to a high standard, on occasion, under pressure, meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety & Safeguarding/Child Protection procedures and their application.
  • Knowledge of computers and ability to use ICT tools for record-keeping and as an instructional tool
