Job Description
Coordinate and implement the ESL program including, but not limited to:
- Ensuring the successful delivery of English language classes;
- Facilitating weekly team meetings and coordinating the ESL program strategic planning process;
- Overseeing the adoption and implementation of appropriate ESL curriculum;
- Developing the monthly class schedule for all ESL classes offered at the center based on teacher availability and level requirements;
- When required, teaching ESL courses within the ESL program;
- Assisting the ESL teachers and General Manager with the development and implementation of an effective student evaluation system (including diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments).
- Organizing and arranging for professional development for the ESL teachers;
- Supporting ESL teachers by providing appropriate orientation for new teachers and professional development for existing teachers;
- Conducting regular observation and evaluation of ESL teachers in the program; (Followed-up with consultation and support where necessary)
- Assisting local office administrators in maintaining records of all ESL students and their status.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching ESL and/or leading an ESL program;
- ESL certificate or equivalent (i.e. CELTA, TESOL, TEFL, etc.);
- ICDL;
- Diploma or certificate in office administration an asset.
