Job Description
- Food production managers are in charge of the processing and manufacturing of food products at food production facility.
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations at food processing specially meat processing factory to ensure optimal product quality and maximum profit for company management.
- Food production managers direct and supervise the activities of food production staff.
- Set and implement standards, procedures, and processes for the manufacture of high quality food products.
- They also develop menu items and recipes for a variety of food products.
- Food production managers oversee the hiring, orientation and training of technical and non-technical food manufacturing personnel.
- Assign roles to production staff according to their competence and work demand.
- Motivate and supervise work crew to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
- Conduct surveys to identify clients’ needs and adjust accordingly to ensure those needs are met.
- Production managers set and enforce health/safety procedures and guidelines for operation.
- Collaborate with the quality department to monitor the various aspects of food processing to ensure final product meets set specifications.
- Prepare and present periodic reports to update company management on food production operations.
- Inspect food production equipment to ensure they are operational and in good working order for food processing.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external food production regulations and legislation.
- Proffering recommendations to management on ways to increase product quality and revenue generation is also part of the functions of a food production manager.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food manufacturing , food science, or food technology, or in a related field.
- Leadership, time management, and decision-making skills.
