Job Description
We are looking for a competent Foreign Purchasing & Logistic Specialist to oversee and facilitate the supply chain operations of our company.
A great asset for the Logistic Specialists is their communication and negotiation skills. They are also well-versed in supply management principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have great record-keeping abilities and a target-oriented approach.
The goal is to ensure the smooth operations of a variety of channels aiming for maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to determine the Incoterm suitable for each shipment with the procurement which will ensure the suitable lead time and cost savings.
- Responsible for logistics functions including goods receipts and delivery of goods from Port of destination to port of receipt.
- Ensures receipts and deliveries of orders from freight forwarder to our site.
- Preparing all related documents for imported shipments (Sea freight & Air freight)
- To make sure that all import transactions of the country are done safely without any legal risk, in accordance with company procedures, with minimum cost and maximum speed.
- Monitoring the shipments in the pipeline and the expected arrival dates to Egyptian ports.
- Ensure the availability of the shipping documents before the goods arrival to ports.
- Supervising receipt of acknowledged delivery notes.
- Ensuring timely delivery as per project site requirement.
- Updating Shipments status daily on Logistics Tracking report and control shipments cycle from port to site or warehouse thought the customs agent.
- Handle the payment and the financial status related to the Freight forward or the custom agent.
- Evaluate in a monthly basis the performance of the custom agent and report the proposed solutions.
- Collaborate with the procurement manager to be aware of the work processes and procedures.
- Responsible with offshore suppliers from RFQ till PO issuing and delivery of goods in our warehouse in Egypt.
- Follow up with the suppliers to ensure timely return of approved documents.
- Contacting our freight forwarder to arrange shipping the purchased orders from abroad.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as logistics coordinator
- Knowledge of laws, regulations and ISO requirements
- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
- Very good knowledge of the customs and clearance procedure and document requirements of import and export.
- Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and reporting skill.
- BSc/BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field
