Job Description

Based in Notting Hill, Melbourne we are in search of an energetic, motivated Projects Operations Manager for our growing Digital Buildings Business. Reporting to the Regional Director (VIC/TAS/SA) we have a unique opportunity for a technically astute and relationship-focused Projects Operations Manager.

Whilst not wanting to narrow the field, we do believe that the following will be key to your success:

  • To drive a high-performance department culture both with direct team and peer teams aligning to our core values and leadership expectations;
  • Be a true leader of the team and foster a collaborative culture ensuring openness, transparency, acceptance, coaching, mentoring and passion;
  • Maintain a high level of communications with clients, and staff;
  • Maintain strong relationships with our key sub-contractors to foster loyalty, compliance/safety, and performance on our projects;
  • To understand and position the Schneider Electric value proposition for the chosen customer segments;
  • To establish and deliver the customers technical requirements and commercial benefits;
  • To deliver on all the department's Revenue and Profit budgets;
  • Be responsible for the strategic direction of the solutions department driving resource planning, risk mitigation and project profitability.
  • Oversee a team of project managers in the successful delivery of projects on construction sites, and within occupied environments.

Job Requirements

You understand the complexities of project management and the importance of managing stakeholder expectations and relationships across a large and complex organisation. In addition, you have the following skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in either electrical, mechanical or technology-related industries;
  • Extensive project management experience;
  • To have strong presentation and communication skills;
  • Strong leadership experience and capability;
  • The ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • An awareness of the non–residential construction industry;
  • The ability to conduct high-level presentations to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to identify and understand customer needs and present relevant solutions;
  • A comprehensive local construction industry network;
  • The ability to understand, adapt to and work with individual communication/work styles;
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline;
  • Whilst not essential, a qualification in project management will be highly regarded.
