Job Description
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and bench-marking
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
Job Requirements
- At least 15 years experience in the field of Purchasing of which at least the last 5 years in a Purchasing Manager role in the Purchasing function.
- An Engineering qualification with experience in the Apparel export field will be most preferable.
- Ability to create process and quality improvements while increasing operational efficiency in a rapid growth organization.
- Experience with consumer products and managing hundreds of SKUs through the product life-cycle.
- Hands-on leadership style who wants to make a big difference at a fast-growing company
- Outstanding leadership traits to include superior written, communication, problem-solving, presentation and influencing skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Must have great interpersonal skills and have an entrepreneurial spirit
