Job Description
The Chief of Party will provide leadership and strategic direction for the project. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining all systems for project operations, establishing all necessary partnerships and ensuring the effectiveness of the program. They will also lead relationships with the Government of Egypt, USAID, and all local partners. Preference will be given to Egyptian nationals.
Description of Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the delivery of all aspects of the Inter-Community Girls Empowerment project
- Establish partnerships with all relevant and involved stakeholders in targeted communities, including central and local government, development partners, civil society, and community-based organizations
- Ensure program coherence with stated program vision and goals. This includes active involvement in program development to ensure that programs are relevant
- Lead a project team consisting of local partner organizations, staff and consultants to ensure effective delivery of all project activities
- Ensure compliance with all USAID and AMIDEAST regulations for all technical, financial and legal matters pertaining to project delivery
Job Requirements
Qualifications
The following represents the minimum set of qualifications for this position:
- At least 10 years’ experience managing community and gender-empowerment focused development projects in Egypt and/or the Middle East
- Experience in program management and administration, financial management, award compliance and sub award management
- Professional experience working in a senior management position for USAID-funded projects
- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- Fluency in English and Arabic (reading and writing)
- Egyptian nationals highly desired
