Regulatory Affairs Manager - META

Position Description:

• The META Regulatory Affairs Program Manager is responsible for monitoring, documenting, managing implementation of compliance strategies and supporting local and global teams on topics related to regulatory META requirements.
• Objective is that Lenovo (company) and Lenovo products shall be compliant to all product related legislation governing import and regulatory compliance, and to support our sales organization to overcome trade barriers necessary to sell into each market.
• The META Regulatory Affairs Program Manager shall interact with local regulatory authorities, customers, test houses, NGOs and Lenovo internal teams to enable strong business compliance covering regulatory requirements (safety, homologations, environmental, sustainability/CSR, etc.) of Lenovo and Lenovo products.

Role shall support compliance with regulatory requirements in META related to:
Environmental / Sustainability – e.g.:

• Chemical compliance legislation (e.g. UAE / GCC RoHS)
• Product end of life management systems (WEEE, Batteries, Packaging, etc.)
• Ecodesign requirements for products and packaging

Homologation – e.g.:

• Product type approvals and renewals
• National/import requirements (e.g. Saudi SIRC (CB) Certification)
• Leading, implementing and managing local registrations / other certifications, including online registrations
• Overseeing product marking and user documentation regulatory text requirements, to ensure compliance. Including:
• Country specific agency label and packaging markings
• Country specific regulatory product documentation

RE-D, LVD, EMCD

• For current products and new/emerging technologies, role provides advice, insight and outlook to identify impact to Lenovo and actions necessary to implement business/product compliance.
• Inform Lenovo Corporate Compliance leads if a non-compliance situation or risk is identified. Lead compliance projects to develop and implement corrective actions to ensure business and product compliance
• Where required, lobbying to help drive META regulatory alignment with existing legislation in core markets (mainly EU Member States, but also USA / China). Whenever META Authorities suggest/implement national deviations from existing standards (CENELEC/IEC/ISO/EU standards) or Directives notify Lenovo Corporate Compliance leads as early as possible.
• Promote META regulatory requirements and related customer procurement requirements inside Lenovo and ensure they are documented within Lenovo standards, engineering specifications etc. and understood by responsible R&D and business units.
• Role should limit financial impacts (fines, penalties, stop ships, etc.) and keep regulatory compliance costs as low as possible, whilst ensuring compliance.
