Job Description
- In this role, you will report directly to the finance manager, in addition to analyzing & interpreting financial performance, you will work closely with the Plant Operations Team on processes and analysis related to annual plant budgeting, quarterly forecasting, month-end closings.
- You will be directly involved with the creation, validation, analysis, and communication of financial and operational data relating to cost improvements, capital authorization requests, and standard costing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide financial analysis to the Board of Directors, Finance Manager and the operations team to aid in decision making.
- Maintains the standard cost system including, but not limited to, setting material standards, determining labor and overhead rates, and periodic reporting.
- Support the Board of Directors and the Financial manager to develop and ensure standard costs are accurate and meet the cost improvement objectives.
- Supervision and assistance to the general accounting group in the compilation and integrity of financial data including gathering, approvals, processing and auditing of accounting transactions.
- Assist the Management in the financial analysis, cost projections, and explanation of efficiency and speeding variances from predetermined manufacturing standards or departmental budgets.
- Validating production volumes and analyzing run rates.
- Analyze and determine the raw material and finished goods reserve on a quarterly basis.
- Responsible for the maintenance, development, calculation and establishment of manufacturing standards cost by production center.
- Maintains a manufacturing cost system to provide accurate and timely quantitative data relative to progress against budgets and standards, and to enable appropriate inventory valuation in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
- Responsible for the work-in process inventory transactions data integrity, including and not limited to stage yield reporting, and actual direct labor and equipment running hours.
- Ensuring productivity factors are in-line with expectations.
- Working with Operations and Strategic Sourcing to minimize material inflation.
- Responsible for the preparation, publication, and distribution of monthly plant wide inventories reconciliation with perpetual inventory records.
- Conducting reviews to ensure staffing and overhead structures are appropriate.
- Ensuring that manufacturing variances to standard and start-up costs are accurate.
- Support capital budgeting, forecasting, depreciation, and reporting requirements.
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, analysis of inventory levels.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting, master’s is preferred but not required.
- Deep knowledge of costing and ERP systems is critical for the role.
- Minimum of five (5) years Manufacturing environment / Cost accounting experience.
- Financial Analyst Experience 1 to 2 years.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing is beneficial in supporting the system implementation.
- SAP experience required.
- Advanced skills using Microsoft office products, very strong MS Excel skills required (formulas (such as functions, Pivot tables, charting, linking multiple workbooks).
- Knowledge of capital budgeting and product costing methodologies.
