Job Description
- We are a German company that operates several hundred servers (virtual and real servers) for internal use and external clients.
- We are searching for a linux administrator that will work within the team to solve all day to day activities, from automation, bug-fixing, analysis, planing of new systems, backup and recovery, monitoring, client requests etc.
- In addition the administrator will work on building net-accessible services for ai applications by adapting available software system f.e. from github to make them accessible for clients trough the net (adding authentication, logging, scaleabilty ...)
Job Requirements
- Extensive knowledge with different Linux distributions necessary.
- Chef is used for automation.
- Experience with one of: chef, ansible or puppet is necessary.
- Good German knowledge is necessary as client communication is partly in German.
- Software used: check_mk, drbd, sogo, chefDK, docker, asterisk, securepoint, mediawiki, ceph, postgresql and xen/kvm. We prefer candidates that already have experience with several of these applications.
- Kubernetes is currently not used but planed for the future.
- Skills with Kubernetes is therefore a plus. Knowledge of amazon cloud services are also a plus.
- Servers are mostly located in Germany Frankfurt.
- This is a work from home opportunity.
- Network consists of Juniper Router and Cisco and HP Switches. Experiences running systems with these networking components is a plus.
- The ideal candidate is self driven and brings in his/her own ideas to continuously improve our operations. The ideal candidate has good communication skills, as we are working in an international team.
