Job Description

  • Contribute towards the development of accounting policy and procedures which that the development meets its internal and external obligations.
  • Provide leadership to an area of the accounting so that the subordinates are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives.
  • Responsible for setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback on a formal and informal basis.
  • Develop operational procedures for a defined area of financial activity so that operational accounting activities are aligned to the achievement of finance strategic objectives.
  • Ensure that subordinates adhere to internal operational policies and procedures so that a high-quality, timely service is provided to internal customers and external representatives.
  • Maintain an awareness of the best practice techniques and tools in an area of financial management so that the department optimizes efficiency and levels of services to internal customers
  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of statutory and legal requirements and ensure that these are communicated to all relevant employees so that the company fulfills its statutory and legal requirements.
  • Manage and control the production of key financial statements according to stated schedules so that the company complies with statutory reporting requirements and senior managers in other business area are accurately apprised of financial performance.
  • Liaise with external bodies and representatives (Regulatory authorities, external auditors, partner company representatives) as required to ensure that any queries are answered in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Provide high level, strategic conductive advice as required to other business area senior managers to allow the realization of coast saving or efficient opportunities
  • Prepare non-routine financial reports and studies for management attention as requested in order to support management decision making.
  • Coordinate completion of internal and annual statutory audits as per agreed schedules so that group meets its statutory obligations and financial risk is minimized.
  • Manages the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures that create and instill an organizational culture that recognizes employee safety and health issues and importance of protecting the employees and company assets in the function.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • MBA or CFA or CMA holder is preferred.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years’ experience .
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, regulations, laws, and practices.
  • Highly analytical, data-driven, details oriented.
  • Good speaking and written command of the English language.
  • Advanced computer skills proficiency in MS Office Suite, accounting databases and software.
